14 February	‘CELEBRATING WOMANHOOD’ An interactive Poetry Theatre presentation conducted by group of women from the group Poetrusic. Their performance was a montage of poems from here, there and everywhere, including some from our own late Co-Director, Dr. Coomi B. Singh’s poetry book, ‘In Celebration of Women.’ The afternoon was dedicated to Coomi’s memory and was a sensory experience using bodies, words, emotions and imagination to connect with poetry by connecting with us. High Tea followed this. Also gracing this event was Dr. Bharat Singh (Coomi’s husband) who shared with the audience some of his meaningful thoughts on Life! 9 November	C-KIDS PARTY C-KIDS PARTY. The Asian Cancer Foundation brought children undergoing on-going treatment for various types of cancers at Municipal hospitals. These children were accompanied by one parent each. They were treated to a fun filled morning; Passages organised Choreographer, AMI KUNDALIA, to teach them a few popular Bollywood dances. The children and their parents enjoyed this session; this was followed by a Lunch; the children were also gifted ‘goody’ bags filled with art & craft material and a gift each.

17 December	CHRISTMAS PARTY FOR CANCER CHILDREN OF ST. JUDE’S CHILDCARE CHRISTMAS PARTY for the cancer children residing at the ST. JUDE’S (INDIA) CHILD CARE CENTRE, TRUST HOUSE, Lower Parel. Embellishing a real Christmas Tree was conducted by our artistic volunteers; the decorations were prepared by the children and their parents. This was followed by tea and snacks thoughtfully donated by Passages’ members and well-wishers; the children were then gifted ‘goody’ bags with gifts also donated by our well-wishers.

7 January	RCBN – Artworks on Display for PASSAGES’ Fundraiser The New Year 2017 began with our PASSAGES’ cancer awareness and early detection message reaching out to 200 Rotarians of the Rotary Club of Bombay North (RCBN). We are grateful for the efforts of the RCBN President, and Past President, for the collaborative effort with the Art & Soul Cancer Foundation for the display of art works for the purpose of fundraising for PASSAGES.
13 January	RCBN – FUNDRAISER AT GALLOPS, RWITC 'Artworks for Charity’ was extended to a gala evening; this gave PASSAGES yet another opportunity to spread the message of Early Detection of Breast Cancer. We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Gaurav and his team from the Art & Soul Cancer Foundation for their involvement and contribution to PASSAGES for both these events.
17 March	‘HOLI’ PARTY FOR THE C-kids A party was held by PASSAGES for the cancer afflicted children (C-kids) brought in from various Municipal Hospitals by the Asian Cancer Foundation, at the Madhuli Hall, Worli. Our grateful thanks to all the volunteers who helped in making this party very enjoyable for these children.
17 April	CANCER AWARENESS CAMP On Buddha Jayanti this year, we adopted the area of Siddharth Nagar for the purpose of Cancer Awareness. Located at central Worli, these large slum dwellings provided PASSAGES and KASTURI FOUNDATION, an excellent opportunity to spread the message of early detection of various kinds of cancers - oral, breast, ovarian, cervical and lung. APRIL / 2016	ST. JUDE’S (INDIA) CHILD CARE CENTRE, BHOIWADA Art Activity for children: In an attempt to cheer up the children residing at the St Jude’s Centre – Bhoiwada, several of our volunteers collaborated and planned a recreational art activity for the children undergoing various stages of cancer treatment. Thirty resident children at the Centre greeted us with enthusiasm for their art session! The children painted on canvas bags donated by ArpanaKhanna. Stenciling and lettering to make their names prominent, made the event creative, and very enjoyable. Several volunteers - PritiLalwani, RashnaDoongaji, DivyaRajaniShroff, Snehal Salve, Kaya Shewakramani and DivyaPamnani - guided the entire activity, creatively and joyfully, assisting the kids with the painting of the canvas bags. Some healthy food treats were also provided to the children.
AUGUST / 2016	STALL AT THE IMC LADIES’ WING WOMEN ENTREPRENUERS’ EXHIBITION: This year, Passages had the opportunity of holding an awareness camp at the IMC Ladies’ Wing - Women Entrepreneurs’ Exhibition, 2016 - on 23rd and 24th August, 2016 at Dome@NSCI, SVP Stadium, Worli, Mumbai. Our stall was very attractively decorated with pink balloons and pink merchandise, donated for the cause of our Medicine Bank, by several members. Visitors and several stall holders were seen wearing our pink ribbon, drawing attention to the message of the importance of early detection of cancer by regular check ups and screenings. Over 2500 women were given our information on Cancers in Women and our Breast Self Examination literature. This Event presented a platform to budding women entrepreneurs engaged in fashion, jewellery, accessories and life style products to show case their talent and reach out to a wide section of society committed to the cause of women’s empowerment. We are deeply indebted to the 2106-2017 IMC Ladies’ Wing committee and would like to acknowledge the entire IMC Ladies’ Wing Exhibition Committee, especially Radhika Nath, Anu Mittal, Manisha Pamnani and Nayantara Jain, along with the efficient assistance of staff member, Jyoti Bangera. A special thanks to Kanchan Khubchandani and Deepa Khubchandani for helping with stall set up at IMC; Gaurav for helping with the sign-boards; Shrutika, Rita and Snehal for endless hours of manning the stall and Rachna Sethi, Vibha Rupani, Rashna Doongaji and Priti Lalwani for assisting at the stall.
AUGUST / 2016	CANCER SCREENING CAMP - KASTURI FOUNDATION 17 persons, sponsored by PASSAGES, attended this screening camp for a thorough check up.

OCTOBER / 2016	CANCER SCREENING CAMP - MEESHA DIAGNOSTICS & POLYCLINIC 27 women, who registered through PASSAGES, went for a cancer check-up camp, which included a CBC, Mammogram, Pelvic Ultrasound,Sonography and PAP Smear.

DECEMBER / 2016	CHRISTMAS PARTY AT St. JUDE'S INDIA CHILDCARE CENTRE Our PASSAGES’ CAS Student Volunteer planned and executed this party on Dec. 10th, for the cancer-afflicted children residing at the St. Jude’s Centre at Bhoiwada. The children thoroughly enjoyed the very therapeutic music session. The party then went on to other interactive games being played, Christmas carols being sung and dancing together. NOVEMBER / 2015	LEVERAGING SOCIAL MEDIA FOR ENTREPRENEURS In keeping with current trends and to encourage and empower women entrepreneurs, we planned this session with Ami Savla. She helped us to understand and explore opportunities that social media presented in the new age of Digital India. Various details about the nuances in social media networks were discussed. During this highly interactive session, tips and insights for creating templates, visuals and other marketing messages were imparted for those who wished to leverage social media for business as well as personal use. When we think of this great big beautiful world……..we can only be humbled and awed and spellbound with wonder at the Creator of all this magnificence. I have always been a happy child and loving life comes easily to me. However, having gone through a near-death experience and an out-of-body one in 2012, I feel that my life is magical, and a reason for me to celebrate each day.” To share Coomi’s experiences in prose and in the language of her heart, through her poetry, PASSAGES held this poetry reading session along with audience interaction, followed by lunch for all members, well-wishers, and friends. JANUARY 2012 FEBRUARY MARCH APRIL JUNE	SELF COMPASSION We are so used to beating ourselves up for our shortcomings, berating ourselves for not doing the best and not being perfect that we don’t realize how harsh and unloving we are with our own selves. We don’t realize that we cannot be truly loving and accepting of our children, spouses, family, friends and co-workers if we cannot treat ourselves with kindness. Compassion for others begins with compassion for our own selves. This 7-session series (started in 2011) focused on developing self-compassion and mindfulness practice through exercises and discussion.	Dr. RANI RAOTE

JULY 2012 AUGUST SEPTEMBER OCTOBER DECEMBER JANUARY 2013	EMOTIONAL ALCHEMY The practice of Mindfulness is a powerful way of increasing our moment-to-moment awareness of our internal states – our emotions, our thoughts, our urges towards certain actions and our habitual ways of relating to people in our lives. This heightened awareness creates the space in our mind for choices. In that split second of ‘mindful’ awareness it is possible to entertain new ideas, control our impulses and direct our thoughts in healthy ways that are beneficial to us. We need not be trapped by habitual thoughts and self-defeating behaviours repeatedly playing havoc in our lives. These SIX sessions explored the effects of mindfulness in our lives and the application of mindfulness to modifying our habitual ways of relating to the world.	Dr. RANI RAOTE
